Hawaii’s Department of Transportation (HDOT) is inviting young leaders from across the islands to join the newly formed Hawaii Youth Transportation Council, aimed at enhancing climate mitigation and adaptation efforts. Open to individuals aged 11 to 24, the council will serve as a working group that advises HDOT on critical environmental initiatives.
Members of the Youth Council will engage in discussions on a variety of topics, including the expansion of public electric vehicle charging infrastructure, improvements in pedestrian safety, and effective communication strategies with both youth and the wider community.
Interested candidates have until November 25, 2024, to apply. For more information and to access the application, visit the Hawaii Youth Transportation Council website.
