On May 14, OahuMPO staff held an outreach event at the Waikiki-Kapahulu Public Library. Staff members shared more information about the Urban Honolulu (Kapahulu) Mobility Hub Feasibility Study and conducted an engagement activity where participants were asked to choose three amenities they would like to see at a mobility hub. About 30 people participated, with folks identifying public restrooms as their top option, followed by public Wi-Fi. Public seating and food and drink options tied for third.
Later that evening, OahuMPO staff attended the Neighborhood Board #5 (Diamond Head-Kapahulu-St. Louis) meeting to share more about what the MPO is, briefly describing the Oahu Regional Transportation Plan (ORTP) 2050, and providing an overview of the Urban Honolulu Mobility Hub Feasibility Study. And on May 19, OahuMPO and the City and County of Honolulu held their first Urban Honolulu (Kapahulu) Mobility Hub Community Workshop, at Kaimuki High School from 6pm-8pm. Attendees were able to learn more about the study and provide comments on proposed mobility hub locations and amenities.
