Meet Kekoa, OahuMPO’s feathered ʻAeʻo mascot for youth engagement! Through fun adventures, Kekoa helps keiki discover that there are many ways to get around Oʻahu, and that walking, biking, and riding trOahuMPO is excited to introduce Kekoa, our new transportation mascot! Kekoa is here to help make learning about transportation safer, easier, and more fun for keiki and families across Oʻahu.
Kekoa is a curious young traveler who is learning how to get around his community using different ways of transportation. Whether he’s riding TheBus, hopping aboard Skyline, walking through his neighborhood, or learning how to cross the street safely, Kekoa is always ready for a new adventure.
Along the way, Kekoa meets new friends, Nanea and Makai. Together, they’ll help share transportation tips and introduce young travelers to the many ways we move around Oʻahu.
Learning to Holo Safely
Kekoa was created as part of OahuMPO’s ongoing transportation education and outreach efforts. Through stories, activities, and educational materials, Kekoa will help make transportation topics approachable for younger audiences while encouraging safe and responsible travel.
Keiki can join Kekoa as he learns about topics such as riding public transportation, walking and bicycling safely, being aware of others on the road, and exploring different ways to get around without always relying on a car.
You may start seeing Kekoa at community events, in educational materials, and across OahuMPO’s website and social media channels.
Let’s Holo!
Transportation is something we all experience every day, and learning safe travel habits can start at an early age. We hope Kekoa will help spark conversations among keiki, families, teachers, and communities about how we can all help make Oʻahu’s transportation system safer and more welcoming for everyone.
Keep an eye out for Kekoa’s next adventure, and Let’s Holo!
