The OahuMPO (Oahu Metropolitan Planning Organization) staff members and friends were among the many enthusiastic passengers who eagerly hopped on board Skyline during its highly anticipated opening weekend on July 3, 2023. We rode route A of TheBus from Downtown Honolulu to the Aloha Stadium Station, experiencing firsthand the speed and efficiency of the newly launched rail service, and its seamless bus integration.
Not only did we experience a fast and efficient ride, but we also witnessed the positive impact the rail system had on the community. The rail system brought people together and promoted a greener, more sustainable mode of transportation.
Our ride on the rail was a testament to the dedication and hard work of countless individuals who had worked to make this transformative project a reality. With each journey along the rail system, Oahu moves closer to a future of enhanced connectivity, reduced congestion, and a greener tomorrow.
We left the station feeling proud to have witnessed history in the making and excited to embark on a new era of transportation on the beautiful island of Oahu!
